Terraplane

UK, four/five piece (1981-1988)

The band that became THUNDER. After much glowing press in Sounds and early Kerrang!, they released indie single 'I Survive' in '83. A deal with Epic followed - as did a radical change in image and style a s the label steered them towards the pop market until the press rail roaded them to oblivion.
Current Thunder members Danny Bowes (vocals), Luke Morley (Guitar) and Gary 'Harry' James (Drums) were then accompanied by Nick Linden (Bass) and, for the latter days, Rudy R iviere (Guitar). Terraplane fought bravely against the odds, and many of their songs were pure brilliance - 'Dirty Love was originally by them, not Thunder - but in the end they decided to do things thier way, not Epic's, and started again as Thun der.
